Recently digitized from it's original 16mm source, Radius, has been remastered, and an original soundtrack commissioned by Portland electronic composer, Auditory Sculpture. Conceived and filmed in the final years of the Cold War, RADIUS uses bold architectural abstraction to frame Portland's Burnside Bridge as it opens and gives way to a lethal military vessel that passes through its gates. The location was chosen for its infamous designation as the city’s “ground zero”, which was believed to be the target site of a potential Soviet nuclear ballistic missile attack.
